WELCOME TO YUKON RIVER LODGE
Step off the beaten path and experience Alaska's Mighty Yukon Wilderness with us...
We are located directly across from the Nowitna National Wildlife Refuge at the base of the Kokrine Hills, between the Nowitina River (Novi), 30 miles upriver of the lodge, and the Melozitna River (Melozi), 14 miles downriver from the lodge. It's about a 30 minute boat ride from the village of Ruby to the lodge and an 8 hour boat ride from the Yukon River Bridge (with stops).
Our location makes us the perfect layover stop for boats headed to/from the Nowitna, Koyukuk, Yuki, Innoko or other river systems further down the Yukon. We sell fuel at the river for boats from the end of Break up (mid-late May) until Freeze up starts (1st-2nd week in Oct) and during the winter months for snowmachines. We also offer areas where helicopters and ski/float planes can land at their own discretion and have both Avgas and JetA for sale.
Horner Hot Springs is located about 7 miles upriver of the lodge and is accessible by trail from the Yukon River, and Melozi Hot Springs - a rarely visited wilderness gem- is about a 15-20 min helicopter ride from the lodge. During years when the Iron Dog and Iditarod trails run from Fairbanks down the Yukon River, the races pass right by the lodge.
